Transport morning to her fur-ever family

June 3rd, my beautiful Annabelle and 5 other dogs left for the New England area, Rhode Island would be Annabelle’s new home.  With tears and Annabelle licking my face, I loaded Annabelle for her 3 day trip, she smelled so spa-like and with freshly polished toenails and new collar, my prayers for Annabelle we’re being answered.  In her 3 yrs all she has known is a shelter.  I started working with Annabelle at the kennels 4 months ago. She quickly stole my heart for she was so prissy and girlie.  She wanted to be the center of someone’s world, and she knew how to work me, I would let her out of her kennel to hang w/me while i cleaned up, she would get extra treats and car rides.  Thursday AM when the transport pulled out of sight, Randy gave me a hug, and said this why we do what we do, this is rescuing, we can’t do anything about their past but we can make sure their future is bright.  So many wonderful dog people are involved in making these rescue/adoptions so successful, it does take a village!  Annabelle you taught me so much.  Her new family think she is perfect:)

Josh has been renamed “Jack”, living in Providence R.I.  He has bonded with Kitty the cat and has been known to share the same chair for a “cat” nap. which just happens to be “daddy’s.

Jack rides to the local coffe shop everyday with his head hanging out the window and the wind in his ears.

They said, life is fun with “Jack”, they get outside more then before and they now have an endless count of tennisballs that are needed to keep him entertained.

This is what RESCUE is all about, stories like “Jack” aka “Josh”.

Josh, my (chessie/lab) rescue from a shelter in Savannah Ga.   Left yesterday for the northeast, a 3 day trip to his FUR-EVER home.

He came to the kennels on a sunday night in Feb. arriving w/2 wonderful volunteers that drove up to get him.  A scared, unsure dog soon blossomed into a romping happy water loving dog.  He loved playing with the othr dogs at the kennels, and used his sexy green eyes to lure me into giving him extra peanut butter treats.   He is going to a wonderful family where the Atlantic Ocean will be in his back yard.  But putting him on transport didn’t come w/o tears, and to make it worse for me, his buddy Slapshot (another story) left on the same transport going further NE.
